Collection 2 - The Creative Process

The support everyone has shown for our latest collection has been amazing and we love hearing your feedback on the designs! So we thought it would be nice to show how we go from having an idea, to producing the final prints.

The process

It all starts with a sketch. We often use nature as a source of inspiration, drawing shapes and patterns that are found in plants, or even microscopic images of plant cells. We spend a lot of time carefully considering the overall composition of a design, until we are finally happy with it.

Once we have completed the design, it is then vectorised and transferred to a computer, that's where we colour the shapes and re-arrange them if we need to.

When we are happy with the composition and colour we send our designs to the printers, where they use a process called Giclee printing to create a super high quality image on 300gsm smooth cotton archival grade paper. At this stage we usually get a sample done to double check we are 100% happy with the end result.

Collection 2 has been designed to complement a minimalist interior design aesthetic, adding a fresh, bold statement to any room. We love seeing our prints in your homes, check out these amazing room shots from Little Big Bell and Fallowgrey for more interior inspiration!
